Physical and chemical properties:

A colorless and transparent low viscosity liquid with a slight odor similar to rosin. It is soluble in aliphatic and aromatic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, and ketones, as well as in water. However, it undergoes hydrolysis reactions, resulting in poor stability of the hydrolysate and a short storage period.

Usage:

It is an epoxy based silane coupling agent. Epoxy groups have the activity to react with various resins, while the silicon hydroxyl groups formed by the hydrolysis of trimethoxy groups can undergo condensation reactions with the hydroxyl groups on the surface of inorganic materials, thereby building a "molecular bridge" between inorganic materials and resins and exerting coupling effects.

It can be used as an adhesion promoter, surface modifier, and dispersant, mainly to improve the adhesion and compatibility of inorganic mineral powder materials and fibers to polymer (resin), as well as the adhesion and water resistance of resin coatings to inorganic substrates.

Typical applications include modification of engineering rubber and plastic materials, paints, coatings, inks, casting resins, adhesives, sealants, fiberglass, abrasive tools, electronic packaging materials, and other industries.

It is an excellent adhesive promoter, suitable for resins including epoxy resin, phenolic resin, polyester resin, polysulfide rubber, polyamide, acrylic resin, PBT, polyurethane, etc.
